We are a 501c3 Non-Profit and passionate about helping individuals & Families struggling with Substance Use Disorder!
Life Giving Life is a non-profit dedicated to helping individuals and families with the transition into a life of sobriety.
Life Giving Life "The Recovery Project" provides trauma-informed supports based on the guiding principles that people can and do recover from alcohol and drug addiction and that competence and wisdom reside in those with lived experience. People at all points on the recovery continuum of care are offered the safe, respectful, space to develop healthy relationships, participate in a supportive community, develop new interests, attend alternative healing arts activities, practice new social skills, and hone unique talents. Members of the Life Giving Life community find opportunities to both give and receive support through a variety of educational, volunteer, social, and skill building activities that help to overcome emotional and social isolation, develop strengths, build leadership capacity, and prevent relapse. Information about other community resources that support recovery in all its complexity and forms are always available at the Life Giving Life.
The peer recovery movement is exploding across this country and throughout the world. Our vision is to create a recovery-informed organization and individuals throughout Montgomery County. This net will be ever widening, ever deepening, to allow for sustained recovery by removing barriers that exist via stigma, outdated social policies, antiquated healthcare practices, and commonplace ignorance. We carry hope, opportunity, and experience to anyone seeking help and helping to save lives one life at a time. We, our community and all the people in this community ARE THE SOLUTION!
Life Giving Life “ The Recovery Project” is a 501c3 non profit that is dedicated to helping our community tackle this substance abuse epidemic that has been rapidly affecting individuals and families throughout our community. We are committed to helping individuals and families through their recovery by addressing all aspects of life and life/coping skills. We have found that life skills and giving people the proper coping skills and tools are crucial for a successful and happy life of long term recovery.
Support is essential for success in recovery. We offer individual, family and couples counseling for individuals, families and relationships impacted by the disease of addiction. We also provide a variety of different groups such as SMART Recover, PALS (Parents of Addicted Loved Ones), Psycho-educational groups, Young Adults Group (ages 18-25), and process/ Check in groups. There are ongoing groups running everyday (see schedule).
Knowledge is POWER!
Every Wednesday we provide an educational class to provide insight to anyone trying to gain education on Substance Use Disorder. Currently, we are having classes on How Substances effect the Brain and the Body. We also hold workshops with guest speakers to educate our community on Substance Use Disorder..
Professional Growth and Development is so important when establishing self sufficiency. We are here to help with resume building, resume coaching, business center with computers and printers to look for jobs, do homework, build a budget, help students with FASA, mock job interviews, and we invite business owners in the community to come in, talk and answer questions.
We will provide nutritional classes to educate on a new healthy lifestyle and foods that can heal the brain and body. We will also provide fitness coaching that will include exercises that will help get those endorphins up and and jump start your body into a new and healthier lifestyle!
We also offer...
-Guided Meditation
-Yoga Classes
-Running Club
-Boot Camps
Transitioning from our old lifestyles to a new sober lifestyle can be hard. We are trying to build new friendships that are healthy we are also trying to find new things to do that are fun and entertaining in a sober environment. This process can be hard and also scary for some, so it is important for us at LGL to help those new to recovery find a community of safe people they can have fun with and hopefully establish new friendships.
At LGL, we have on going sober fun activities such as BBQ's, Paintball, golf outings, game nights, movie days etc.
Being sober doesn't mean we can't have fun!
